Advice to First Year

Our first year associates start Monday.

Here’s what I say to them—and all of you, and my first-year and present self:

You are worthy.

You deserve to be here.

You are enough.

A career in #biglaw is not for the faint of heart—most law jobs are not.

It’ll try you.

It’ll push you.

It is an adventure and opportunity if you’re open to it.

Be a sponge.

Be selfish.

It is your career—yours alone.

Grab experiences and build skills.

Build relationships—personally and professionally.

On most days, I’d do most of it all again.
