I recently asked my firm's proprietary GenAI to help me prepare for a meet and confer with opposing counsel in a contentious case. AI is not Google--it is a tool, and an assistant. It makes my job easier (and much more efficient). It also helps me get over imposter syndrome. Here's my prompt, designed to prepare litigators for meet and confers: *** PROMPT FOLLOWS *** Pretend you are a civil litigator with 20+ years of experience. You are my opposing counsel in a case about <insert summary here>. We are at a crossroads about <description> and have a final meet and confer later today. Your position will be <insert> and <why>. My position is <insert> and <why>. We have a <relevant case document> that says <summary> and governs this dispute. Ask me questions, one at a time, until you understand my position and supporting arguments. Then describe what my best arguments are and what your best arguments are.
