Brain Dump
Stop.
Grab a pen and paper.
For a few minutes, write down all the thoughts that come to mind.
Go.
Most busy professionals can benefit from brain dumping.
Even though not all of our thoughts deserve our attention, we cannot always escape (or choose) the thoughts that pester us.
Getting the thoughts out of our head, and onto paper, frees up space and brings clarity:
🧠 Are any of these thoughts worth pursuing?
🧠 Are there any patterns to what we're ruminating on?
🧠 Are there any thoughts you to which you can (or should) say, "No thanks"?
This process also allows us to move on and focus on the task at hand (writing a brief, an interview, a client call, a hearing, or even falling asleep at night).
