Favorite Parts of the Job

What's your favorite part about being an attorney?

A Scout recently asked this--when I presented to her troop on the Constitution and our Constitutional Rights.

My answer is two parts:

👩‍⚖️ Court (trial, hearings, etc.); and

🤝 Building relationships with my colleagues.

I have the "trial bug." I leave court exhilarated and ready for the next round.

In #BigLaw, those opportunities can be few, but they're enough to keep me going.

And, when I'm not in court, I look for other ways to fuel the fire.

The primary way is connecting with my colleagues.

❤ I have great mentors (and friends) ahead of me, who guide my path.

❤ My peers are some of my favorite people in the whole world.

❤ And, without a doubt, giving back to those coming up behind me is the best, most fulfilling part of the job.

❤ Oh--of course--all of you who I've connected with on this platform are a new way I've found joy in my professional life.

I love being an attorney.
