Managing Up

Learning to "manage up" is a piece of corporate lingo that gets tossed around in#biglaw.

In a traditional, hierarchical profession--with competing personalities and management styles--learning to "manage up" can be difficult.

Some senior associates and partners take to it kindly (like me). Others don't want to ever think someone junior to them is trying to manage or influence or dictate to them in any way.

So, as a junior-to-others attorney, what can you do? Communicate, follow through, and create a paper trail (CYA).

Check out my podcast episode on "Nudging Partners" for some practical pointers on this often difficult task (https://shorturl.at/oaN6K).
