Overwhelmed
Overwhelmed (adj.): completely overcome or overpowered by thought or feeling.
This is me lately.
Off and on, a lot lately.
When I hit this wall, overcome by the weight of my obligations, what do I do?
A mixture of this:
😮 freeze (lose focus; procrastinate)
😮 take a break (watch trash TV; work out; scroll TikTok)
😮 clean (throw things away; tidy up)
😮 respond to emails
😮 review my to-do list
😮 make a list of what needs to get done now (and what can wait)
😮 cancel meetings
I'm not sure which of these helps most, but I've realized my pattern of turning to these choices when overpowered by my own thoughts and to-do list.
A little time with any of them, though, and I almost always return to the tasks at hand, recharged and ready to press on.
