9.30.24 — Monthly Reflection
September 30, 2024 -- three quarters down. That is hard to believe. So hard to believe.
September flew by. Before I jump into October (and my billable hour report), I will do my monthly reflection.
When time moves quickly, when you work in a "numbers matter" environment (especially Q4 numbers), it can be difficult to fight the urge to only look ahead--to only press on.
So, I review the past month to remind myself of all that happened, of all I got done.
This month, I:
💪🏻 enjoyed a great long weekend Up North with family for Labor Day and completed a five-week stay Up North;
💪🏻 appeared on two podcasts (episodes coming soon);
💪🏻 gave three presentations on time management, practice management, ethics, and lawyer wellbeing;
💪🏻 got back on the tennis court after six weeks away;
💪🏻 had dinner with my mentee (and friend), celebrated Go Green for Parks, made a candle at a client event, and went to a Brewers and Packers game;
💪🏻 kicked off a new year of 1:1 business development coaching;
💪🏻 volunteered at Wisconsin's Wills for Heroes;
💪🏻 attended WIPL, joined Inns of Court, and had lunches and dinners with new and long-time friends; and
💪🏻 welcomed my cohort of Milwaukee summer associates to the firm as first-year associates.
50%+ of this happened in the last 2.5 weeks. It has been a whirlwind. I slept nine solid hours last night, feel somewhat recuperated, and am ready to hit the ground running in October.
I'm grateful for the opportunities and growth--and I'm looking forward to having hopefully laid the foundation for a calmer November and December, once October fulfills its potential.
🔥✌️❤️
