Apologizing

My judge informed me of my excessive apologizing early in my clerkship. Since then, I've attempted to edit it out of my communications. This article is timely, as I passed that insight along to a summer associate just this morning.

Whether it's a feminine trait, or part of our culture (I have a double whammy of being Southern and living in the Midwest--two polite cultures by stereotype), I've found it valuable to make my emails more direct and less apologetic.
