The Billable Hour

โณ I've never commented on the billable hour.

๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ Honestly: that's because I've rarely minded it.

๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ It suits my time-management, perfectionist, track-everything personality.

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿซ It harkens back to when I taught fifth grade and had a timer going at all times--tracking every second of our learning time.

โ˜  But: it can be grueling.

When you're in the midst of a big-billing period (I am now):

โฒ How do you stay calm?
โฒ How do you find time for yourself?
โฒ How do you take advantage of breaks?
โฒ How do you make sure no balls drop?
โฒ How do you find time (and energy) for non-work commitments?

๐Ÿค” I don't have these answers.

๐Ÿงช I'm still experimenting (even after almost six years of billing time). I'm still trying, and sometimes failing, to balance it all.

๐Ÿ‘จโ€โš–๏ธ I believe there will be a billing alternative in my life time, but not any time soon.

๐Ÿ“ž Until then, what are your tips for making due?
