Authentic Lawyers

I work in an adversarial system.

All lawyers do.

That system can wear you down.

At times, it has worn me down.

When I feel it happening, I try to remind myself:

Be yourself.

Finding--or returning to--my voice has freed me.

Freed me to find success.

Freed me to be kind--to myself and others.

Freed me to speak out about #lawyerwellbeing.

Freed me to talk openly about the realities of #biglaw.

And: I am not an exception.

Many, many lawyers out there (and particularly here on LinkedIn) are reshaping the profession by being themselves.

By giving voice to the things the profession traditionally ignored.

Over the next two days, attorney-leaders from a plethora of fields and backgrounds will share their stories at The Authentic lawyer Summit.

It starts today at 11 AM EST.

At 1110 AM EST, I will open, sharing about lawyer well-being for 15-18 minutes.

From mental health, to business development, ADHD, and lessons we wish we had known, you'll hear from a really exciting group of people seeking to change the profession by talking about things that for so long (too long) were pushed under the rug.

It's free and you can pop in and out as you choose.

Head to authenticlawyersummit(dot)com to sign up.

I look forward to seeing some of you there.
