Cheers to Our Parks

One of the best things about Milwaukee is its green space--its parks.

It grabbed my attention the moment I set foot in this town nearly 11 years ago.

Although there are many ways to enjoy the parks in winter (or this wet, wet spring), for me, our parks represent all we get to do in summer and fall to really enjoy being outside.

My favorite thing about Wisconsinites is that we do not take good weather for granted, and taking advantage of Milwaukee's parks is one of the best ways to do that.

That's why I support Milwaukee Parks Foundation and have taken the Park Champion Pledge.

This initiative is supported by Molson Coors Beverage Company, who donated $250,000 to help launch the Cheers to Our Parks Initiative. Milwaukee Parks Foundation--with the help of Molson Coors and Milwaukee County Parks--hopes to match that donation and reach an all-in contribution of $500,000.

By taking the pledge, I will (1) donate to the cause, (2) share my why with all of you, and (3) visit one of the newest beer gardens (as soon as it opens next month).

For my Milwaukee followers, I hope you consider joining this effort and spreading the word. hashtag#cheerstoourparks

And big, big shout out to Rebecca Stoner, Executive Director of Milwaukee Parks Foundation. She is a champion and rock star and is doing huge things for our parks.
