Five Years

The year is 2016. In February, I got my #biglaw offer. In May, my clerkship wound down and I started private practice.

In between, in March, I met my husband.

To say it's been a wild ride is an understatement.

To say I couldn't have made partner without him is also not hyperbole.

Today we celebrate five years of marriage.

We had a pandemic-style wedding before we knew what that was: family** only at the courthouse (the federal courthouse, presided over by my judge), a party in Milwaukee the next day, and a party two weeks later in Atlanta.

I'm grateful for the life we've built together and will continue to build.

He'd tell you I was very chill when we met. Private practice changed that very quickly. He's stuck with me regardless--not a small feat.

Here's to another year. 🔥❤️✌️

**My favorite fact is that our parents didn't meet until our wedding.
