Joy

What brings you joy?

For me, one thing is snow.

❄️❄️❄️❄️

I grew up in Georgia.

I then bounced around to North Carolina for college, Arizona to teach fifth grade, and Mississippi for law school.

The rarity of snow in those places builds an excitement around snow—its beauty and its dangers.

Now, I call Wisconsin home.

I’ve lived here nearly 9.5 years and the snow still wows me.

Even more special?

When it’s Christmas time.

Christmas lights on snow-covered homes is one of the most glorious things.

So, this morning, I made my short commute to work with some Christmas tunes (joy sparking for me too) and watched the early flakes of our first snow storm of the year.

And: I love it.

A little joy before I start my work day.

A glimmer of joy in an otherwise seasonally dark period (the days are very short up here).

How are you finding some joy today?
