While at home this weekend, to celebrate my mom’s birthday, I learned I won an award: Corporate Counsel’s Women, Influence & Power in the Law’s award in the mental health and wellbeing initiative category.

My parents recall the times when lawyers paid out of pocket for mental health services so their employers could never find out—this is still reality for some of us.

I work every day to speak candidly about my own struggles, create space for others to acknowledge their own needs, and change the profession (and big law) for the better.

To be acknowledged by Corporate Counsel and WIPL—a conference I learned about a year ago and vowed to myself to attend this year—is a pinch me moment.

The award recognizes women “who have demonstrated a commitment to advancing the empowerment of women in law.” The list of honorees is truly incredible. I am proud to be recognized and am spurred and inspired to keep empowering others to build a more sustainable career in big law and beyond.

Thank you, especially, to the platform and this community, which has been so, so supportive of my efforts and my story. I am forever grateful, truly.
