October 2023 In Review

10.30.2023 -- October flew by.

Before I face November (and the start of the holidays), I will reflect on this month:

🎃 It was a spacious month--lots of open slots on my calendar for deep work and to catch up after a lengthy hectic season;

🎃 Wills for Heroes returned for fall clinics and I did my first full-day of volunteering (I very much look forward to three clinics in November);

🎃 Between Milwaukee's Evening at the [Federal] Courthouse and the induction to Wisconsin Law Fellows, I got to network with attorneys in more formal settings, which is always a treat;

🎃 I played so much tennis, including at the firm's all-attorney retreat, and I continue to be so grateful for the joy (and endorphins and dopamine) this hobby brings me);

🎃 I had several lunches with friends. Between those connections and the all-attorney retreat and this online community, October was filled with connection--old and new--and I loved it.

Months as an adult often feel like a whirlwind. Pausing at the end of each month to look back at my calendar and see all I accomplished--personally and professionally--is a helpful reminder of all the work I put in.

It also helps me check in with my feelings and mental health. October felt balanced--alone time aligned with socializing, work commitment alongside personal activities.

A good month.
