Perfectionism
Perfectionism is the tendency to demand of others and/or of oneself an extremely high level of performance--in excess of what the situation requires.
Perfectionism is common amongst high achievers and, of course, lawyers. But, it is associated with anxiety, depression, and other mental health problems.
A group of heavy hitters (see more below) has gathered together to survey lawyers on perfectionism and wellbeing. They have extended the deadline to participate until October 21, 2024, and I hope you'll consider participating.
Like other issues within our profession, we cannot make improvements if we do not know where we stand. Which is why collecting data on this topic is so, so important.
Below, I've included the information to access the survey, as well as its purpose. It will take you 10 minutes or less to complete. I filled it out. I hope you will, too.
