Recap: February 2024
February 2024--well, this month flew by, especially compared to January, which I think a ton of us thought was a slog.
Before I dive into a new month, I like to take some time to reflect on what I accomplished this month:
🌟 I conducted mock interviews for Ole Miss Law students.
🌟 I played tennis, working my way up to a 45-minute private lesson with fewer and fewer breaks (and super high heart rates).
🌟 I attended the Milwaukee Bar Association's annual Judges' Night, catching up with so many friends and colleagues.
🌟 I continued working on my business, which is bringing a renewed excitement to this gig.
🌟 I hosted a group of high school students at our Milwaukee office, showing them a small taste of all the opportunities a big corporate office provides.
🌟 I spent a long weekend in Chicago with my family; seeing Chicago through the eyes of a nearly 7 year old was such a treat.
🌟 I spent eight days at my parents' house, truly cherishing that time with them.
🌟 I got to visit my summer camp for a foundation board meeting.
🌟 I landed in Houston for the rodeo.
I think it is so critical to see myself outside of the #billablehour.
My personal and professional investment time truly sustains me and keeps me going when work hours get long and heavy.
It can be easy to see yourself as just a billable vs. non-billable number.
But: those non-billable hours create a full life alongside work, and I am grateful for this habit of reflecting, which consistently reminds me of that.
