Routines

I live and breathe by routines.

They are my guardrails.

They help me feel grounded.

They help me maintain boundaries.

They soothe my anxiety.

That said: routines are not for everyone.

Self-care is about you.

Tending to your mental health is about you.

What works for me may not work for you:

because you grew up differently than me,

because you’re single,

because you’re a parent,

because your worries and anxieties are different from mine,

because you have a different job or boss,

because you have different wants and needs, and so much more.

What I hope you get from my posts is permission to experiment:

Permission to explore ways to support yourself and build a professional life that is more sustainable.

Acknowledging that self-care is not selfish and that mental health is not optional is something we can all do.

From there, it is up to us to try out tools and techniques,

And then to stick with what works for us and toss the rest.

It’ll take time, but investing in yourself is worth it.

It will make things more sustainable and enjoyable.

We need your whole, well, healthy self in this world.
