Lessons from Kevin Hart

I saw Kevin Hart last night.

It was a blast.

It is clear stand-up comedy is what he's supposed to be doing, and that he really finds joy in his work.

That's lesson number one: People who watch you work can tell whether it brings you joy or not.

It also was my first event where they made you put your phone in a locked pouch.

A pouch that could not be unlocked until you left the building.

It brought such presence to the event.

That's lesson number two: When you can't access your phone, it truly frees up part of your brain, allowing you to be very, very in the moment.

I needed a good 1.5 hours of laughter and, last night, I got it.

Hoping to take some of that joy--and being present--into this week.
